Diary: done today in class – 05/b

We start with Francesco (Franz) Rosati presenting his projects and experiments around interactin design and media sound. Nice discussion about indeterminacy, algorithms, process, aesthetic, synesthesia. Also examples fro the last project “Interactive Shopping Windows“. Then we continue with a couple of critical design projects by Crispin Jones: the Tavafono and the Telepafono. We also have a look at  the Strangely Familiar. Unusual Object for Everyday Life workshop  you can see here. It’s suggested to have a look to the id-lab youtube channel for similar projects. One more clip about an Interactive Scenario called The Road Less Travelled. We comment, at the end of the day, some of MyAtelier 2010 interactive proposals to better understand how to investigate and present the final project (keep reading below for some pdf). Diary: done today in class – 04

Today we had Antonella Radicchi as guest talking about sensuous Urbanism and soundscapes. Here you can read the related post . We’ve spent the rest of the  time commenting some of the projects posted on the Green Village Sketchbook Tumblr . Also we had a look at some  proposals for the  Laboratorio di Allestimento Urbano 2009-10 and the Laboratorio di Allestimento Urbano 2008 on Exhibition Design Lab web page. To conclude 99 incredibly inspiring pieces from art, architecture and interaction design. Students are supposed to deliver their assignements about stop motion uploading on youtube their videosclips.

Another excercise has been assigned for the next week: Emerging soundscapes from neglected, banal, obvious corners of our everyday metropolitan life.

Today we had the Stop Motion Workshop with Sabrina Fasano and Martina Biffa. Here you can read the related post where you have the brief and many examples.  The three classes 2A, 2B and 2C have worked togheter producing a nice short video.


Diary – done today in class – 2

Presentation of the class commenting the Syllabus. Special comments on the flow of references posted on The Green Village Skecthbook Sketchbook. After that, comments on their ex-tempore project assigned last week. Students are asked to improve their proposal. They’re are asked to deliver a new powerpoint presentation. Plus, they have a new assignement for the next week: preparing a presentation about an assigned inspiring artists. All the activities and the final project are supposed to be done in group of two.


Diary – done today in class – 1

First day of the class. We’ve immediatly assigned an excercise to do in class (ex-tempore project): designing an installation for the next Architecture Fair in Rome about the relationship between the nature and the metropolis (you can read the related post about that here). Students work in class. They’re asked to bring back the concept the next week in the shape of a more refined powerpoint to be commented in class.
